Toplion Sportswear was founded in 1989 as a distributor for Umbro,
and after two successful years the business was changed to become an Umbro Licensee,
allowing Toplion to be more market specific.
As a licensee Toplion can design and source its own products, products that suit the
Irish Consumer better than a generic International range.
With the change Toplion could also negotiate Sponsorship deals and form its own
marketing strategies and platforms.
The biggest of these was the signing of the National Football team in 1994,
a contract that has successfully been renewed 4 times and the current deal runs until 2020.
Other International teams include England, Sweden, Norway, Northern Ireland to name a few.
League of Ireland teams sponsored include Shamrock Rovers, Bohemian F.C., St. Pats Athletic
and Dundalk. Toplion have agreed a 6 year extension of the league of Ireland football sponsorship deal.
(This includes all premier and first division games, FAI Cup and League Cup games and the Setanta Cup.)
Toplion is an Irish owned and an Irish run Company based in the West of Dublin with almost
40 fulltime Employees. Toplion are making a big commitment to grass roots football and our
